Sorry for not posting.

For the last three weeks I have been so sick. I thought it was the flu but found out it was more than that. Good news is I'm on antibiotics and will hopefully be feeling better soon. I can't wait. I bought a new guitar (it's so pretty!) and it needs some vinyl! So far I was able to take my signature and run it through SCAL so that I could cut it out and place it on my guitar. I haven't cut it yet. I'm hoping to be well enough to make a video of it! If you are wondering I don't actually play guitar yet but am teaching myself. Poems and lyrics come easy for me but now I want to be able to write the music for them so hopefully learning the guitar will help! Thanks for your patience.

Cricut Create $74.95!

At Cricut Machine. It doesn't come with any cartridges but their cartridges are all 29.95 right now. I've already used my blow money so no cartridges for me. I got the email this morning and it says it's extended until Wednesday (I guess that means tomorrow?)

The Cricut Create combines the Personal Cutter and the Expression. You get the feature keys and cutting incriments of the Expression in the size of the Personal Cutter. If you don't need to cut things 12x12 and don't mind cutting your paper to fit the mat this would be the Cricut to get. It does work with all cartridges and the Gypsy. Hopefully they'll extend it another couple weeks lol.

Star Spinner Card

I saw this Butterfly Spinner Card on YouTube and had to make one! This one I made for cousin because, like me, she loves pink! She also appreciates the work I put into something, besides, she asked that I make her a birthday card lol. The star is from the Gypsy Wanderings Cricut cartridge. I used my G to make the front base because I do not have a bar punch. Glitz Stickles (Ruby Slippers) in the center of the card. The patterned paper is from Blossoms and Butterflies stack. The light pink is a metallic paper I got from my not-so LSS. For those who are new to crafting the video shows how the card works.

Making this card I also discovered that ALL STAMPS ARE NOT CREATED THE SAME! The stamp is from My Pink Stampers new stamp line. This is from the Everyday Occasions set. My Pink Stamper stamps are exclusive to Custom Crops. Her stamps are made of high quality photopolymer. I like clear stamps and had no clue of the difference in material. When I used clear stamps with my Stampin' Up! inks it would bead up on the stamp so when I stamped my image I would get little circles where the beading took place because of the concentration of ink in those spots. I started sanding my stamps so that I got less beading. I also learned that if I used Stazon ink I didn't get the beading but I didn't want to switch inks because I had all of this SU inks. I also didn't want to switch back to rubber stamps because I liked the clear ones.

Enter My Pink Stamper stamps. She said they were photopolymer and I had (have) no clue what that was but I got some anyway (because Robyn is great!). The photopolymer stamps require no sanding and if you look at my image the ink is an SU ink. I stamped it straight from the package and got great results. I will now buy from companies that have clear photopolymer stamps.

Valentine Card

I made a Valentine Card because I was thinking of my DH because he's such a great guy! Of course my DH being the great guy he is, loved the card but said it was a little to girly to give to a guy. He said it was something he would buy to give to me. I guess I'll give it to him to give to me for V-day lol. The card has NO Cricut in it (I can't believe it). I did use the swiss dots cuttlebug folder for the embossing. Cuttlebug is a Cricut sibling (both share the same parents: Provo Craft). The flower is a prima the middle of it is a "skittle" similar to a dew drop. I use a glue stamp pad and glitter for the sentiment. The frame are the Nestabilities dies. I used stickles to outline it.

So Much Fun

Totally forgot to blog about the Silverdale Crop! Well.....I HAD A BLAST!! I didn't get much work done but I had fun anyway. I met some nice ladies who had brand new Gypsies! I enjoyed teaching them different things and answering questions. My sister (who's not a crafter) came and sat with us for a few hours. She even made some ATC (artists trading cards, pic below). This was her first "crafting" project. She used my Gypsy and used the Hannah Montana cartridge. It's a little hard to tell but she used Bazzill Bling paper for the two on the left. The last one on the right she used stickles but not sure which one it was. She's a music person, who's favorite color is purple so she loved these. I am so thankful for the people who showed up and for those who stopped by to say hi

SILVERDALE CROP TODAY!

Today is the Silverdale crop. I really wanted to make it a swarm but didn't get the info to Cricut in time. Next time I will. So with or without your cricut come to the Silverdale crop! It's from 10am to 5:30pm. SEE YOU THERE!

Birthday Slider Card

My friend had a birthday and Robyn had a challenge: Make something for a friend. I made this birthday card for my friend Rose. I really liked Robyn's cocoa slider so I made it into a card. The Dahlia flower I learned from here. I don't have any circle punches so I used my Gypsy and Cricut. The nice thing about using my cricut instead of circle punches is that I don't have to do so much work!

I used Gypsy Font for the sentiment, George and Basic Shapes for the Dahlia and I need to remember which cart for the Flourish. The paper is bazzill. The patterned paper is from Close To My Heart. In the middle of the Dahlia is a bead similar to Dew Drops.

New email me button!

I got inspired by Robyn and had to create my own cartoon character. I then realized I didn't have an "email me" button so I put the two together! Just click on my cartoon (right side, scroll down) and you can email me! Here's a pic of my cartoon I wish she looked a little more like me but....:

Inchies

I have not blogged in over a week! I thought for sure this would be something I could do daily. It's hard! Before blogging my crafts I could create like nobody's business but now I have like "crafters block". I did finish up some inchies for a swap so I will at least post those. These were super simple thanks to my Cricut! An "inchie" is an inch block or shape decorated however you want. These are great embellishments for just about any paper craft. The theme that I just finished were "school inchies" Next I will finish up "birthday inchies". I joined a swap for these so I made 50 of the same ones and will get back 1 of mine and 49 other ones. This was a big swap! Swaps are fun because you get to see other peoples talent and it feels good to make something and KNOW all your hard work will be appreciated. Here are the "school" inchies:

This one is a notebook paper and pencil. I printed the blue lines on the paper with Microsoft Publisher then cut it out with my cricut. The pencil I cut out with my C then colored it with crayola colored pencils and then covered it with Glossy Accents.

Email Subscription 2

Testing to see if I get my email subscriptions. I haven't been getting them with the widget I have so I decided to try feedburner directly to see if this corrects the problem. If it does (I'll let you know) you will need to re-subscribe with the new email subscription box, I deleted the old one.

Back bug flourish thinner version

I do not really like the flourish on the back of my bug because it's too thick. For those that agree with me I made it thinner. If you like the thick one you can download that one still too. I'll post pics of the both.

Pink Bug decorated.

As you know my original Cricut Expression I painted pink. I wanted a pink one REALLY bad so I painted it. Then Provo Craft decided to come out with a pink one. At first I wasn't going to get one but my DH got it for me for Christmas (yea!). I put vinyl flourishes on it that I made using inkscape I then cut it out using Sure-Cuts-A-Lot. If you have SCAL you are more than welcome to download and cut the flourishes for yourself. This is the flourish that is on the front of my bug. The little pieces at the top are scraps.







This is the back of my bug. It has another flourish I made. You can get that one here.





On the side of the Expression are little cricket bug heads. They aren't colored I guess they're embossed. I was able to get a StoreFront cricut cartridge and on it has the bug head. I cut out two of those with the pink vinyl and placed it over the embossed white one on both sides.







On the curves of the flourishes I'm going to put rhinestones. They look like the bling on the bottom right corner of my bug.

My First .scut file!

I made a practice flourish for my bug. Now I am testing to see if I can share the file. The black is the preview of the cut and the pink is the actual cut on pink vinyl, placed on my bug. I'm not that fond of it but I wanted to practice with inkscape, SCAL, media fire and clickable links .

During "My Pink Stamper Live" (www.mypinkstamper.com) someone made the comment on singing "just cricut" instead of "beat it" (by Michael Jackson). I couldn't get it out of my head so I decided to write a song lol

Fun with Spray Paint

So before Provo Craft came out with a rainbow of Cricut colors I painted mine. I also painted some other things (come on I had an ENTIRE can of spray paint lol). I thought I would show the end results. After I posted a picture people wanted to know how so I did a video. I think I will post that here too....maybe...
